Contents and User Guide for the App
The application features a study section titled ‘Let’s Try,’ which includes four thematic maps: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Users begin their learning experience in the spring, reflecting the traditional Japanese academic calendar that commences during this season.
Contents:
- KOTOBA 1: Engage in a game designed to reinforce vocabulary retention by matching cards that display identical images.
- KOTOBA 2: Construct sentences by aligning illustrations of verbs with corresponding vocabulary often associated with those verbs.
- KOTOBA 3: Match illustration cards that convey similar meanings to Japanese character cards.
- MANGA: Immerse yourself as a character in a manga, selecting appropriate lines from provided options and reading them aloud.
- BUNKA: Enhance your understanding of Japanese culture and society through a quiz format.
- STAGE TEST: Assess your knowledge with a review test comprising 20 multiple choice questions across various stages of learning.
Challenge Yourself: Test Section
In the testing section (‘TEST’), a total of 16 assessments are available. Users can attempt eight tests per week, with questions rotating weekly. This feature encourages learners to evaluate their retention and understanding of Japanese vocabulary. Upon completion of the tests, participants receive a results certificate bearing their name. Achieving over 80% correct answers grants a pass certificate that includes an illustrative medal.
KOTOBA LIST:
A concise dictionary within the app lists all vocabulary and expressions encountered. Words marked with a check indicate retention, and each entry is presented in both Roman characters and hiragana/katakana, alongside a translation to facilitate understanding of Japanese characters.
STATUS:
Upon each login to the study section, users earn 100 points. Performance in stage tests contributes to this score. The status feature provides users with insights into their overall points, weekly points (calculated from the most recent Monday to Sunday), words memorized, stages completed, and tests successfully passed.
RANKING:
This section displays an overall ranking of all users based on points accrued and stages cleared, alongside individual performance metrics.
HONIGON’S CAMERA:
Upon completion of each stage's test, HONIGON’S CAMERA activates, offering various decorative frames as backgrounds. Users can commemorate their achievements by taking a ‘celebratory photograph’ that combines these frames with a self-portrait.
